Firstly, I would recommend using your regular coffee grind for that drip machine. The fine Espresso grind is going to taste quite bitter, even using only half of the amount, because the coffee is ground finer, and there is more surface area exposed to the water. Find one of your friends who has an espresso machine & give them that coffee. If you want good tasting, drip made coffee, get a grinder and grind just what you need right before you brew it. The aroma is fantastic!

My husband bought some coffee that was already pre-ground to a very fine texture, especially for espresso machines. How much should I use for my regular coffee drip machine? Do you think half of what I would use with a coarser grind?
